దీపావళి నాడు, ప్రజలు సంపద దేవత అయిన లక్ష్మీదేవిని మరియు వినాయకుడిని పూజించి, తమ ఇళ్ళను శుభ్రపరిచి, అలంకరిస్తారు. దీపావళి పూజలో సాధారణంగా లక్ష్మీదేవి విగ్రహాన్ని లేదా చిత్రాన్ని ఉంచి, దాని ముందు బియ్యం, పసుపుతో గీసిన కమలం పువ్వును ఉంచుతారు. దేవతను ఆహ్వానించడానికి దీపాలు వెలిగించి, తలుపులు తెరిచి ఉంచుతారు.  

పూజకు అవసరమైనవి 

• లక్ష్మీదేవి విగ్రహం లేదా చిత్రం.
• గణేశుడి విగ్రహం లేదా చిత్రం.

• పువ్వులు.
• నాణేలు.

పూజ విధానం (సాధారణంగా)

1. ఇంటిని సిద్ధం చేసుకోవడం: 

   దీపావళికి ముందు రోజులలో ఇళ్లను శుభ్రం చేసి, అలంకరించాలి. 
2. పూజ స్థలం ఏర్పాటు: 

   ఒక టేబుల్ మధ్యలో లక్ష్మీదేవి విగ్రహాన్ని లేదా చిత్రాన్ని ఉంచండి. 
3. గణేశుని పూజ: 

   లక్ష్మీదేవి విగ్రహం ముందు, కలశానికి నైరుతి దిశలో గణేశుడి విగ్రహాన్ని లేదా చిత్రాన్ని ఉంచండి. 
4. బియ్యం మరియు పసుపుతో కమలం: 

   లక్ష్మీదేవి ముందు ఒక చిన్న పళ్ళెంలో బియ్యం ఉంచి, ఆ బియ్యం మీద పసుపుతో కమలం పువ్వును గీయండి. 
5. దీపాలు వెలిగించడం: 

   ఇంట్లో దీపాలు వెలిగించాలి. తలుపులు, కిటికీలు తెరిచి ఉంచడం వల్ల లక్ష్మీదేవి ఇంట్లోకి ప్రవేశిస్తుందని నమ్ముతారు. 
6. దేవతను ఆహ్వానించడం: 

   దీపాలు వెలిగించడం ద్వారా చీకటిని పారద్రోలి, వెలుగును స్వాగతిస్తారు. 

దీపావళి ప్రాముఖ్యత

• దీపావళి పండుగ చీకటిపై వెలుగు సాధించిన విజయానికి ప్రతీక. 
• ఈ పండుగనాడు లక్ష్మీదేవిని పూజించడం ద్వారా ఆర్థిక శ్రేయస్సు మరియు సురక్షితమైన జీవితం లభిస్తుందని నమ్ముతారు. 
• నూతన వస్త్రాలు ధరించడం, పిండి వంటలు చేయడం, బాణసంచా కాల్చడం వంటివి ఈ పండుగలో భాగం.

  For the Altar:
  Idols/Pictures: Idols or pictures of Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesha. 
  Chowki: A wooden or elevated seat to place the idols. 
  Cloth: A clean red cloth for Goddess Lakshmi and a yellow cloth for Lord Ganesha. 
  Flowers and Garlands: Fresh flowers like marigold and lotus, and garlands for decoration and offerings. 
  Kalash: A fresh earthen pot for the puja, often filled with water. 
  Lighting & Offerings: 
  Diyas: Earthen lamps with cotton wicks.
  Oil/Ghee: For lighting the diyas and providing a sacred flame.
  Incense: Incense sticks (agarbatti), cone dhoop.
  Camphor (Kapur): For the aarti ceremony.
  Offerings: Coconut, fruits, sweets (like laddoos, barfis), dry fruits, and sugared seeds (batasha).
  Sacred Items & Ritual Ingredients: 
  Holy Water: Gangajal or rose water for purification.
  Rice (Akshat): Used in various rituals and as offerings.
  Tika Items: Vermilion (Kumkum), turmeric (Haldi), and sandalwood powder (Chandan) for making sacred marks.
  Mouli (Raksha Sutra): A sacred thread to tie around the wrist.
  Janeu: Sacred thread for Ganesha.
  Coins: To represent wealth.
  Durva Grass (Doob): For Lord Ganesha.

  Matchbox: For lighting the diyas and camphor. 
  Pooja Book: A book containing mantras and instructions for the puja.

  Bahi-Khata: New account books and an ink pot with a pen are used in some traditions.
